Luso-American Credit Union was chartered in 1960 to serve the growing Portuguese community in the Peabody area. Over the years the Credit Union evolved into a community based credit union open to all who live or work in Essex County, Massachusetts. The Credit Union currently has an asset base approaching $67 Million, serves more than 6,000 members and family members. Luso-American Credit Union exceeds its peer group when considering its Net Capital ratio of 13.01%.

We offer convenient parking with two drive-through windows, and open six days a week to serve our members. The Credit Union offers a wide range of deposit and loan products including; savings, checking, certificates of deposit, and IRA accounts. In addition, we offer many types of loan products including; personal, new and used auto, credit cards, first and second mortgages, and home equity lines of credit all offered at competitive rates.

Service is delivered by our professional staff in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Deposits are insured by the NCUA and excess insurance is paid for through MSIC. We are a service driven credit union committed to delivering our services in a professional and courteous manner.
