Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide to our members the best
services possible. To achieve this we will identify and
concentrate on delivering high quality, highly
personalized services and continue to provide the most
competitive rates in our industry.
History
Luso-American Credit Union was founded in 1960 to serve
the growing Portuguese immigrant community in the
Peabody, MA. area. The Charter and By-laws were
subsequently amended to serve all members who worked or
lived in Peabody, MA. and the contiguous towns. In April
2005, the By-laws were amended further to serve all
members who work or live in Essex County, MA. Today, the
Credit Union has assets in excess of $69 Million, serves
more than 8,000 members, has a strong Return on Assets
that matches its peer group, and is one of the best
capitalized Credit Union in Massachusetts.
Eligibility
to Join
To join Luso-American Credit Union eligible members must
work or live in Essex County, MA. In addition, members
who are eligible to join various Portuguese
organizations located in the City of Peabody are also
eligible to join the Credit Union.
